Leatherette FAQ

Laserable leatherette, answered

  • Do all your leatherette colours come with adhesive?

For patches and apparel, most are offered with or without a pre-applied heat-activated TPU melt backing, so you can press them straight onto hats, bags and apparel. For bonding it to other surfaces yourself, a pressure-sensitive tape like 3M 300LSE works well too, browse our adhesives collection.

  • Which thickness should I pick for my project?

0.8 mm flexible suits earrings and decor, 1.2 mm craft is the all-rounder for keychains, bookmarks and most patches, and 1.8 mm heavyweight holds its shape for structured hat and jacket patches. Many finishes come in all three weights.

  • How big is your leatherette range, and is it in stock?

Choose from stocked leatherette colours, finishes and thicknesses at our Saskatoon studio. In-stock orders placed before noon CST, Monday to Friday, ship the same day. Later orders may still ship that day; otherwise, they ship the next business day. For 1.8 mm or double-sided options that are not listed, contact us about a special order.

  • Can I test colours before buying full sheets?

Yes. Our sample pack lets you feel the finishes in person before you commit to full sheets.

  • Will it engrave with good contrast on my laser?

Our PU leatherette engraves to crisp, high-contrast results on both CO2 and diode lasers. Every leatherette product page lists Recommended Settings, plus Technical Specifications, Cleaning Instructions, Compatible With, and Project Ideas & What You Can Create, so you have a tested starting point. Run a quick pass on a sample to fine-tune for your machine.
