Choosing your laserable leatherette

What laser crafters ask before starting a leatherette project.

  • How many leatherette colours and finishes do you offer?

    One of the largest selections in Canada. We stock 100+ laserable PU leatherette colours, and many come in multiple finishes and thicknesses, so the real range of options runs much wider, from bright solids, glossy and matte vintage to metallic, carbon fiber, denim and sports textures like basketball and golf. Every finish is in stock at our Saskatoon studio, so you can match almost any project without waiting on a pre-order.

  • Does your leatherette come with adhesive?

    Yes. For patches and apparel, most sheets are available with or without a pre-applied heat-activated TPU melt adhesive, so they press straight onto hats, bags and apparel with no extra glue. For bonding it to other surfaces yourself, a pressure-sensitive tape like 3M 300LSE works well too, browse our adhesives collection.

  • Which thickness should I choose?

    It depends on the project. 0.8 mm flexible leatherette drapes for earrings, pendants and decor wraps. 1.2 mm craft leatherette is the all-rounder for keychains, bookmarks, and wallet or hat patches. 1.8 mm heavyweight holds its shape for structured snapback patches, jacket patches and coasters. Most finishes are available in all three weights.

  • Can I pair leatherette with acrylic?

    Yes, and it is one of our favourite ways to elevate a project. Layering soft, tactile leatherette over engraved cast acrylic adds depth that one material alone cannot give you: the warmth and texture of leatherette against the clean shine of acrylic. It is a simple way to make tags, signage and keepsakes look and feel premium.

  • Can I get samples before ordering full sheets?

    Yes. Our leatherette sample pack lets you test the range in person before committing to full sheets, so your first project starts with the right material.

  • What laser settings work for your leatherette?

    Our PU leatherette engraves to a crisp, high-contrast finish on both CO2 and diode lasers.
